I shot this wedding earlier this summer with Daniel Dunlap of Daniel Dunlap Photography. Rachel and Justin were married in Council Bluffs, IA on an absolutely beautiful day. After the wedding ceremony complete with swordsmen (awesome!) we headed to the Offutt Air Force Base for an outstanding reception. Enjoy some of the photographs from the day.

Kearney, NE Wedding Photographer: Barbie and Clint

I had the opportunity to document the wedding of Barbie and Clint this past weekend. I was helping fellow Omaha wedding photographer: Jeff Pope of JP Weddings. We made the trip from Omaha, NE to Kearney, NE to meet up with Barbie, Clint and their wonderful families.

After a loverly ceremony we headed over to Yanney Park for some shots in the late afternoon sun (Check out the image of the couple against the cloudless, blue sky), then we were off to the reception at the Holiday Inn in Kearney, NE. Barbie, Clint and their friends had an awesome time and the reception food was some of the best I’ve tasted. Hats off to the Holiday Inn for feeding 450 + people with absolute efficiency. This was a really nice way to end the 2011 wedding season! I wish you all the best in the future. Enjoy some of my favorite photos from the day.

For those that are keeping track of my Mamiya ZD rolling review, the image of the dress (#1), and the church portrait of Barbie (#6) were taken with the Mamiya. For the indoor portrait, I used a single on-camera flash bounced off a nearby white wall. I just love the look of these medium format images. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, forget I wrote this paragraph and just enjoy the following photos…

Lenox, Iowa Wedding Photography: {Susan and Danny}

Omaha Old Market Wedding Photography: {Michelle and Joe}

Earlier this summer I had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of Michelle and Joe with my good friend and fellow Omaha (also Phoenix) photographer: Julie Branyan. When Julie told me that Michelle and Joe were having their reception at the Hilton in downtown Omaha’s Old Market I was very excited. The reception did not disappoint: it was beautiful!

I do recall it being one of those > 100 degree days on the 16th of July when the two got married. You’ll notice the last photo in the set looks like there is haze or fog…well it was so hot and humid that our lenses immediately fogged up going from indoor locations to outdoor. Still that image was one of my favorite moments from the day.

I really had a blast shooting this wedding and if you are looking for an awesome reception site, with great ambience and food, check out the Hilton for sure!

The Dress

An image from the weekend that I really liked. I love the contrast between the dark room and flowing dress. This was also my first wedding with the new Sigma 50mm f/1.4 lens (Having exchanged the Nikon version for this lens). It performed really nicely. Look for a review in the next few weeks.
