It also helped that we had some amazing people to work with: Chloe and Chris, a great group of photographers, as well as amazing weather and an a perfect sunset. After a long winter, I am definitely looking forward to a nice, warm summer.

For all the awesome photographers that came out, thanks! It’s so much fun to work with different types of photographers who see the same scene in a much different way. Anyways here are a few favorites that I took during the day:

Recipe for an awesome eshoot: 1) cool location – check! 2) awesome light – check! 3) vintage car – check! 4) interesting architecture – check! 5) awesome couple – check!

Well we have had all 5 so the results were…we’ll I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

We started the session behind this awesome barn:

At this point in the morning the sun’s golden rays were just awesome. Check out the ring shot – bokeh heart – totally unexpected and awesome.I just couldn’t get enough of this barn’s cool texture and rustic appearance as a backdrop.Next we moved on to the apple orchard. I just loved all the colors!One of my favorite shots of the day!Then things got cool when Nathan brought around a restored vintage Chevy pickup! Swinging back around to the barn for some awesome dips!Chickens!This shot was the last of the session and was one of my favorites! I am so excited to shoot your wedding, guys! These last two I was getting a wee bit creative. Both are 4-image composites.

This picture is funny because I was laying on my stomach shooting into the sunset, Libby and Greg down on the grass as well and a pick-up grade-school soccer game going on to the left of us. They probably thought I was crazy. Oh well, so worth it!Tip for using found locations. This super-awesome purple and yellow building that looks like it could be on the beach somewhere: some random shack in a soccer field. Look around and you can find some really interesting backgrounds made out of boring-on-the-surface places.Yay for piggy-back rides!So these next two pictures are awesome for the following two reasons. 1) It was the idea of these fine runners to be part of the background, so we happily obliged. And 2) for the bike picture, that is not in fact their bike but rather some random stranger’s bike that Libby flagged down to borrow. Fan-freaking-tastic. 100% worth it. Props rock.Some more dancing in just about the greatest light ever.Saving the best for last! You guys rock, I had a wonderful time with you both!

This was the first place we hit – I love the contrast between the stone wall and the green woods, plus we had some awesome, diffuse lighting coming in.
How cool is this location, right? See where that beam of light is coming though the tunnel – the other wedding ceremony was getting starting – it was certainly a shock to see 150 chairs setup and people in tuxes…we got some strange looks, but we tried to stay out of their way.
How cute are they?So by this park there is a reception hall that sort of looks like an Italian Villa, which was the second spot on my list of places to go, but of course the other couple’s reception was going on in there…we still managed to take this nice one on the back-side of the house (out of site, of course!)We then went to the Regency Lake and Tennis Club to catch the sunset, which while beautiful may or may not have had a *slight* mosquito infestation….My favorite of the day: Golden Light like you read about…I love couples who aren’t afraid to get a little bit adventurous. For the record this bridge was a lot more stable than the first fence we tried…I had an awesome time and we really captured some great pictures! Thanks guys! 

We started down in the Old Market and found some nice alleys with interesting brickwork:
I love the save the date chalkboard! We actually did two of these picture sequences, one downtown in the Old Market, and one up at Boys Town West into the sunset. I love that you can see how happy this couple is!The sun was still a little bit harsh so we found an old loading dock with some nice shade cover.I had to take a picture of Mark’s cool boots!We then walked to the slides and found this awesome tree.The couple was not at all bothered by the masses of people and music going on around them.These next two are some of my favorites!This is right after we were getting whistled by passers-by. Very funny crowd….We then left the Old Market and headed up to the lake by Boys Town West to catch the sunset and snap another set of Save the Date pictures.What a fun couple!The sun was starting to set but we still had some golden light left. Thanks guys! I can’t wait for the wedding!
