Hello all!
Here is a simple way to put your culled and edited sample images on your iPad to show to clients using the built in photo program on the ipad. Nothing fancy here, just Aperture 3, an Apple iPad and iTunes.
As I’ve explained on a previous post, I use Aperture 3 to manage, rough edit, and tag images from a shoot before a round-trip editing session in Adode Photoshop for final edits and retouching. Once i’ve made final edits, I use a smart album named “EVENT_NAME PORTFOLIO” that collects all 3-star (blog worthy) images that have been externally edited (photoshop).
Here is how it looks in Aperture 3: [This is the smart album window: COMMAND-SHIFT-O]
Make sure you select the “all” and not any.
Now in itunes, I’ve made sure to check “sync photos from Aperture”. Here is an important reason why Aperture 3 is better than Lightroom 3 as part of a COMPLETE workflow. Aperture 3 works with itunes, ipad, photoshop, etc. Simple workflow saves me time.

I check the “Portfolio” smart albums for any project I want to be on my iPad. I now can sync itunes with my iPad and it will automatically optimize the .psd files for the iPad’s resolution and have them available to show clients! Something about the tactile nature of the multi-touch screen and moving through images non-linearly appeals to potential clients more in my opinion than a slide show.

Let me know what you think or if you have any other tips you use with Aperture 3!
